JOB SUMMARY:  

We are looking for three veterinary technicians (full and part-time) in New Jersey with a career-minded, team-oriented outlook that will excel in client and patient-based work and is looking to give back to their community. Less than one year of experience is okay.  

Salary—negotiable and depends upon experience, Hours—we try our best to be adaptable. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Animal Health Center is an established, privately-owned practice with a strong client base that has been in the family business for over 54 years. We believe in joyful, fulfilling, and meaningful work with all our clients and patients.

Animal Health Center is in the Central-Western part of New Jersey known for its spectacular scenic mountain views, reservoirs, parks, wineries, and accessibility to New York and Pennsylvania life. The practice sits in the heart of a family-oriented, compassionate rural community surrounded by many lively towns and cities with a rich history. We consider ourselves to be a family practice with family practice philosophy. 

The Animal Health Center (AHC) and Common Sense for Animals (CSA), our no-kill animal shelter (rehomed over 1200 pets last year), sit side by side on 12 acres of farmland.  Technicians are responsible for animal care in both the AHC and helping at the shelter. 

We are seeking technicians who have a thirst for knowledge and want to make a difference.  Animal Health Center fosters a learning environment that encourages all team members to expand their skill sets, nurture individual development, and provide the best care possible for our patients.  Our records are digital along with our x-rays, two ultrasounds, dental procedures, surgery suite, and much more. 

All technicians are expected to consider clients and patients as their first priority.  All are expected to be capable of or willing to learn the following: 

  • Critical care
  • In-house lab
  • Preparing samples for outside laboratories
  • Pharmacy-dispensing prescribed medications
  • Laser therapy
  • IV catheter placement
  • SQ/IV/IM injections, enteral feeding, and patient care
  • Anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
  • Dental prophylaxis and taking x-rays

And most importantly, to communicate with the doctors (2), each other, and the owners.
