Daisy’s owner lived alone, except for his faithful, young basset hound. Unfortunately, he died and his body was not discovered for almost three weeks, leaving Daisy alone
in the house without food and water. Daisy was thirsty, hungry and emaciated when found. When the tragedy unfolded, the Animal Control Officer found Daisy sitting beside her deceased owner. He brought this faithful friend to the shelter. It was unfortunate that no one realized the situation. The owner died from natural causes, Daisy almost died. Daisy was
very thin. The picture here was after several days of eating well at the shelter. The lesson is that accidents and events happen beyond our control, and maybe we should all check on our loved ones more often. Daisy survived and she remains a symbol of love and devotion that she and her deceased owner shared.
